Description:

Part three of the P.I.E.C.E.S of my Relationship toolkit. P.I.E.C.E.S is a framework focused on identifying unmet physical, intellectual, emotional needs and how they relate to someone's capabilities, environment, and social history. This document provides culturally safe questions to work through with Indigenous older adults living with dementia. Culturally safe care is when the method of care given is adapted to meet the cultural context of the person seeking care. Ideally, long-term care providers will use these questions to provide culturally safe care for older Indigenous adults with dementia.
