Description:

Part one of the P.I.E.C.E.S. of my Relationship toolkit. P.I.E.C.E.S is a framework focused on identifying unmet physical, intellectual, emotional needs and how they relate to someone's capabilities, environment, and social history. This in-depth guideline provides dementia care strategies for Indigenous peoples. Supported by research, the recommendations are culturally safe methods of providing care in long-term care homes. Culturally safe care is when the method of care given is adapted to meet the cultural context of the person seeking care.
