Excellence Canada and the School of Pharmacy – Memorial University of Newfoundland created this antipsychotic deprescribing tool. It helps health care providers assess the appropriateness of antipsychotic medication with long-term care residents living with dementia. This tool offers additional information on what behaviours antipsychotics should not manage or treat, how to begin deprescribing, what to look out for,and how to engage care partners.
