This Irish national clinical guideline on the appropriate prescribing of psychotropic medications is for people with dementia, care partners and health care providers. It provides detailed information on the following medications: antipsychotics, acetylcholinesterase inhibitors and memantine, antidepressants, anticonvulsants, benzodiazepines, z-drugs, and melatonin. It emphasizes informed consent and collaborative decision making.
